Daily Masses the week of Feb 2-6 have been canceled. Instead, deacons will be holding Morning Prayer on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 8:30am; and, Evening Prayer on Tuesday at 6:30pm. The First Friday Mass will be moved to Saturday morning (2/7) at 9am.

Given the severity of the inclement weather that is expected in the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington, Bishop Koenig has announced a dispensation from the Obligation to Attend Sunday Mass this weekend. All Masses on Sunday, 1/25 are canceled. Additionally, Parish Offices will be closed on Monday, 1/26 and there will be no daily Mass. Fr Jim Greenfield, an Oblate of St. Francis de Sales, OSFS will speak on the topic of “Living Flexibly in an Anxious World” and use insights from Salesian spirituality and Scripture. Speaking about the legacy of St. Francis de Sales, Pope Francis praised the saint’s realization that “the world was changing, and the mark of a completely evangelical response was flexibility and a farsighted vision.” We, too, are challenged to be a church that is outward looking and free of all worldliness even as we live in the world.

The Catholic Diocese of Wilmington is proud to participate in the upcoming 2026 National Eucharistic Pilgrimage which announced its theme recently. The pilgrimage, under the theme “One Nation Under God” will honor St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, the first American citizen to be canonized a saint as dioceses along the Eastern seaboard of the United States come together from Memorial Day through July 5, 2026 to encounter Jesus in the Eucharist. The National Eucharistic Pilgrimage will pass through the Diocese of Wilmington June 11 & 12. The specific locations to be included in the Diocese are forthcoming.

Koenig invites all married couples in the Diocese of Wilmington to the Annual Wedding Anniversary Mass on World Marriage Sunday, February 9, 2025, at 1:00pm at St. Margaret of Scotland Church in Newark, DE. Those celebrating significant anniversaries (5-year increments) - 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, or any anniversary beyond 50, will receive a special certificate from the Bishop.
